How to Squeeze in Self Care During a Busy Week
Working a full-time job that requires 40 hours a week or even more can sometimes result in neglecting self-care. Reminding yourself that self-care is just as important as anything else to improve your mental health. With all of us here at AVRE working full-time in office, here are some self-care tips we implement throughout our busy weeks.
Cook healthy meals
Opting for eating clean leads to an overall healthy lifestyle. Healthy meals allows you to feel energized throughout the day, prevents illnesses, and promotes feeling good about yourself in the long run. Feeding yourself with what your body needs instead of processed food or fast food will help you get through your work day without feeling sluggish or moody. Taking time at the end of your day to prepare a healthy lunch is truly an easy way to set your next work day up for success.
Show gratitude
Whether that’s 10 minutes in the morning or 10 minutes at the end of the day, take some time to really think about what you’re grateful for. Write it down or even just meditate. When you’re thinking positive thoughts, you will sure be carrying that vibe with you throughout the remainder of your day.
Get moving!
Getting your blood flow going is sure to wake you up and energize yourself in the middle of your work day. Take some time during your breaks to walk around your building and get outside to feel some sun. It’s always refreshing to be able to push reset in the middle of your work day by a quick 15 minute change of scenery.
Nail your skincare routine
At the end of the night, there is nothing better than a hot shower and taking care of your skin. The easiest way for an at-home self-care routine is completing your skincare routine and treating yourself to an extra leave on mask to hydrate and nourish your skin. Having an extra 30 minutes of ‘me time’ can definitely do you good after a long work day.
