Women's Empowerment: How a Busy Mom & Business Owner Runs on AVRE Shoes

Can you share a little bit about your story?

My name is Lauren Gleisberg and I’m a wife, mother, and businesswoman. I have a healthy lifestyle brand, sharing workout and meal plans that are maintainable and fun to follow. I have a passion for health and fitness, but I do it in my way: creating lighter versions of my favorite indulgences (ie: pizza, burgers, casseroles, etc.) and following 30-minute weight training workouts.

My goal is to empower women to use fitness as a way of living fuller lives. Hundreds of thousands of women follow my plans and they’ve come together as a community: the LG Community. We are proudly over 1 million community hashtags strong on Instagram. It’s a group of down-to-earth, supportive women who come together to inspire and be inspired by one another. It truly just makes this journey a lot more fun! 

I’m also a wife and proud mama to two sweet little boys: Leo (3) and Beckham (2). Family is everything to me, and I really enjoy our simple day-to-day life. We cuddle and watch cartoons, hit up every park in a 15-mile radius, and have daily dance parties. I am naturally a homebody as is my husband, Anthony, so we enjoy our evenings of cooking at home and watching shows. 

It took me 30 years to get to this place, but I feel really content with where my life is at. I struggle with a bit of anxiety, so it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, but I do my best to see the positive in everything. I’m really happy and thankful for where my career and personal life are at.

How does it feel to own your own business and to have such a large and loyal following?
I truly feel like I’m living out my purpose each and every day. I am so thankful for what I get to call work. It’s also a responsibility I don’t take lightly. If you’ve ever experienced the transformation that healthy living can provide, you know it’s much deeper than the physical. I’ve gained so much confidence and overall happiness through this lifestyle. Therefore, I feel a deep responsibility to provide my community with resources to make improvements both in and out of the gym. I’ve been doing this for such a long time that I know so many of these women personally, which is one of my favorite parts. 

What does working at home mean for you right now during the COVID-19 Pandemic?
I’ve always worked at home. However, working from home with two children on your lap and no childcare was quite different than what I was used to. I thrive off of a schedule, and even amidst chaotic times, I do my best to establish routines. Right now, I love time blocking. I use a magic cube timer, so I’ll set tasks for 30 minutes… work to get it done, and then I’m onto the next thing. It’s helped me focus a lot at home.

You have such a vibrant spirit and beautiful energy. Who do you attribute that to?
My mom, Debbie has always been and always will be one of the biggest and best influences in my life. She radiates positivity and is the most selfless woman I know. Growing up, she balanced work and motherhood in the most beautiful way. She thrived in her career but also was there for me as a mom in every way. I’ve watched her navigate life’s ups and downs, making the best of every situation. Describing all of that is exactly who I hope to be as both a woman and mom.

How does it feel to be in AVRE shoes? How do you exemplify Authenticity, Versatility  Responsibility, and Empowerment?

First off, I can wear my AVRE shoes from sun up to sundown, and many days I do. I’ll go about my entire day: workout, work, school pick up, errands, and family playtime all in the same pair of shoes. Just like AVRE’s versatility, my days are never the same, so I appreciate a shoe that can serve as functional when I’m at the park with my two little boys as well as comfortable and cute when I’m out and about and running errands. Whatever my day has in store, I feel empowered to get at it and live life as my most authentic self. I appreciate and love that AVRE so closely aligns with that!
